  1. Druid City Music Hall. 1307 University Blvd., Tuscaloosa
    Druid City Music Hall opened its doors in 1940 as a bowling alley. Located in the lively "Strip" near the university, the bowling alley evolved into a movie theater, then segued into live music. A 2020 reconstruction brought the venerable venue into modern times, hosting such hot acts as the Avett Brothers, Jason Isbell, Kenny Chesney and many others. Also, there are frequent Alabama Game Day Watch Parties. Druid City is available to rent out for private events.

  2. Tuscaloosa Amphitheater. 2710 Jack Warner Parkway, Tuscaloosa
    Sitting on 15 acres along the banks of the Black Warrior River, the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is in close proximity to the University of Alabama and the lively downtown district. It's the largest outdoor theater in West Alabama. The facility is the site for a variety of concerts, as well as the 4th of July Celebration on the River with the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra. Hurry and get your tickets to see such headliners as 50 Cent, Jason Aldean, and Bare Naked Ladies.

  3. The Red Shed. 509 Red Drew Ave., Tuscaloosa

Besides the best in local live music, The Red Shed also features Game Day Barbecue, daily specials such as Liquor Pitchers Monday through Wednesday; $3 pints on Thursday; $2 Rolling Rocks on Friday; $3 pints on Saturday; $3 pints for Happy Hour, 6-9 p.m. Monday through Friday; plus regular dart tournaments.

  4. Druid City Brewing and Taproom. 700 14th St., Tuscaloosa
    Gather at Druid City Brewing for open mic night, comedy night, and trivia. You can also play with coloring books, card games, board games, and old-school video games. Game days and music bingo are a plus. What's more, you can choose from a nice selection of porters, IPAs and other ales, stouts, and more. As for music, look forward to Year of October, Johnny on the Spot, and Poseidon, and other touring bands.

  5. Live at the Plaza Concert Series. 618 21st Ave.,  Tuscaloosa.
    The Live at the Plaza Concert Series takes place annually at Government Plaza in downtown Tuscaloosa. This free concert series runs through June and July, on Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. Pet and family-friendly, the concert series also has a kid zone. Bring a blanket and folding chairs. Some of the bands who will be playing: Cotton Mouth Creek; The Locked Band; Tranquility; Stone Harbor; and Mach Ten.
